Local Informational Meetings in Erie County, NY.

If you, or your group, would like to learn more about your flood insurance situation, we are offering low cost informational Community Ed classes. If you pre-register the addresses you are interested in with us, we will try to print your flood zone maps for you. Pre-register to our office by email, fax, phone, or voice mail, in addition to registering with the school district for the class.

 

Topics to be covered include:

  • Four common scenarios of lenders requesting flood insurance.
  • Finding out your current and proposed flood zones. Learn how to access and interpret these maps.
  • Three sets of pricing: Preferred Risk Program, zone X and zone A rates.
  • The Transitional Program. Special pricing for up to two years for those transitioning from low or moderate-risk zones to the high-risk zone.
  • Grandfather Rates. Lock in lower cost rates forever to avoid the high-risk rates.
  • Improving the resale market value of your home and assigning your policy to the next owner.
  • Questions and answers.

Please understand that we are here to help you make the best decision possible, based on each of your individual situations. We are not involved in FEMA's remapping project, so don't yell at us if you disagree with their findings. Any misdirected anger, and disrespect, will result in your being asked to leave the meeting, and no refunds will be given.
