Thill-Demerly Agency, Inc. is an independent insurance agency located in the historic village of Lancaster, NY, 10 miles east of Buffalo, NY.

All employees are licensed in New York State. We specialize in personal lines, such as Auto, Home, and Long Term Care Insurance. See here for other policies offered.

Thill-Demerly began in 1932 with the partnership of realtor Paul Thill and his wife, independent insurance agent Agnes Demerly.

Over the years their two sons grew the insurance business and represented a number of national and regional insurance companies. Robert Thill later went on to become the Lancaster Town Clerk, while Cornelius “Connie” Thill developed the agency’s outstanding reputation for personalized, competitive and competent service.

DanThill-Demerly was first as a customer. He was later hired in 1979 after graduating from SUNY Buffalo. He has obtained his NY State Agent and Life licenses. He and his family reside in Lancaster and are active members of Lord of Life Church where Dan heads the Technology Team.

Over the years Dan has developed numerous mathematical techniques to aid in quickly estimating various coverages for the insurance programs offered. This has made it relatively quick and easy to address the quoting questions customers ask on a daily basis. In 1998, Daniel King became the full owner upon the retirement of Connie Thill. MaryCustomer Service Representative since her hiring in 1988 and handles most routine office servicing. She maintains her New York State Broker license.

Mary is a very active member of Our Lady of Pompeii Church and the Buffalo Chapter of Friends of Harmony. She is super friendly and is very valuable to Thill-Demerly. She’s a real “people person” and will likely be your good friend in short order.

Brian

who joined the agency in 2007, after graduating from Buffalo State College. He soon obtained his NY State Agent license and has quickly learned the insurance business under the mentoring of Daniel King.

Brian’s enthusiasm, fun nature, quick-wittedness and knowledge have endeared him to Thill-Demerly customers. He is sharp, grasps key concepts, listens to customer needs, and then matches the most appropriate insurance program, coverages, limits and deductibles for the best solution.

 



How we run our business

At Thill-Demerly Agency we listen to each client's requests and help determine each person's needs. We often offer suggestions to improve coverage and value.

Writing insurance is a very complex process. It is crucial to take time and pay significant attention to details - and that is exactly what we do. We consider the possible ramifications of actions. Each company represented has their own appetite for new business, their own underwriting guidelines, requirements and procedures. We match the customer needs to the most appropriate insurance program.

Reports such as Motor Vehicle Reports (MVRs), claims history (C.L.U.E.) and insurance (credit) scores may be run through secure websites and used in the rating process.

An important consideration for many is the multi-policy discount for auto and home insurance. We try to find the best bottom line value, considering price, limits, coverages and deductibles.

We exercise good faith and reasonable diligence to obtain insurance that our customers request. If we are unable to obtain the requested coverage, the applicant is notified in a timely manner.
